Asta Nørregaard (1853–1933) was a renowned Norwegian painter best known for her portraits. She studied art in Munich and Paris and was admired for her realistic style and delicate use of color.

Her pastel paintings are especially impressive, capturing both the textures of clothing and the expressions of her subjects with remarkable skill.

I feel very fortunate to have seen her work in person—It left a lasting impression on me.
